A pretty quick game, not too bad.
I didn't have much of a problem with the rods that other commentators mentioned. Hardest part was finding the void shard because of how much it blended with everything else in the foreground.

Holy crap this is good.
I have anxiety that runs in my family, for me it's mainly self loathing related. This hit home what I experience daily. It felt kinda cathartic playing this.
That ending made me lol pretty good, I wasn't expecting that.
Since no one else ran into this problem that I know of, I won't rate it a zero.
When I try to select a level nothing happens. I check my browser console and get this each time I try to select a level:
Cannot load scene: Invalid scene name (empty string) and invalid build index -1
Ok, thanks for the heads up! I'll see if I can fix it in the next update.
Pretty okay game. I liked the ending. A few things that could be better though
- There are many cases where you have to take a "leap of faith" onto ground you can't see below you. This wouldn't be a problem if there weren't hazards on said ground. This leads to times where surviving is just pure luck. Having the camera shift down when you're ducking can fix this pretty easily
- When I reached the end of the caves and stuck in the ending cutscene, an enemy caught up and killed me mid scene and sent me back to the last checkpoint. Luckily it still counted and took me to the next level after the dialogue was finished.
- Those flying enemies are obnoxious. They're too good at keeping up your height so you can't jump on them. Slowing down their ascending speed could fix this.
I don't know what the comments below are talking about. I had no problem with the game at all with the exception of two things
1.) It's very difficult to dodge past enemies without getting nicked because of their random movements.
2.) I had trouble telling what was a platform and what wasn't. Luckily the damage gained wasn't substantial at all.
I beat this game at around five minutes. I don't think this game is as bad as everyone makes it out to me.
There was a bug I noticed though with the ending cut scene. If you press any move button at all it will still make the sound as if you are moving.
I would highly recommend working on optimizing the code. As of right now when the screen starts to change color it lags to the point of unplayability. I don't know if this will help, but did you make sure to clear the screen each time you update? That could be the problem if all the background "draws" are layering on one another, thus making more unnecessary objects to work with.
Also, please lower the initial sound.
Thank you for the review!
I don't know what's wrong with updating, I might fix it. I will also make a button to play WITHOUT that song playing. I thought some people wouldn't like it. I've even have those problems before, so it might help with the development.
Thank you for your review! . ;)
Very nice demo! I really enjoyed the writing. I hope to see the finished version of the game.
It's okay, not much to write home about, but you did say that.
Very interesting concept. I had a feeling how it was going to end from the text between levels. The only thing I would feel could be better is the jumping mechanic. When you need to reach a place using a triple jump your character doesn't stay at maximum height for very long. With platforms that need you to be at maximum jump height there's very little time to react.
